Nicb's biography</a> </head> <base href="http://www.nicolabernardini.info/"> <body> <center> <a href="txt/en/index.html"><b>Nicola Bernardini</b></a> <p><p> Biographic Notes </center> <p><p> Nicola Bernardini was born in Roma in 1956 and studied composition with Thomas McGah and John Bavicchi at the <a href="http://www.berklee.edu"> Berklee College of Music </a> in Boston. <p> He has composed <a href="music/en/list.html"> several works for traditional, electroacoustic and computer instruments. </a> <p> As an interpreter and technical assistant, Nicola Bernardini has contributed to the production of several works by composers and ensembles such as: Giorgio Battistelli, Luciano Berio, Aldo Clementi, Alvin Curran, Adriano Guarnieri, Kronos Quartet, Musica Elettronica Viva (MEV), Rova Saxophone Quartet, Fausto Razzi, Salvatore Sciarrino, Marco Stroppa, etc. His collaborations include works with the artist Pietro Consagra and the theatre director Richard Foreman. <p> He has published several essais and articles on several musical and technical topics. <p> Nicola Bernardini teaches electronic music at the <a href="http://www.conservatoriopollini.it">"C.Pollini" Conservatory of Padova</a> (the specific website of the <a href="http://www.sme-ccppd.org"> School of Electronic Music </a> of the Conservatory may be found <a href="http://www.sme-ccppd.org"> here</a>). In the same Conservatory he has coordinated the experimental school for <a href=http://www.tecnosuono.org>Sound Engineering</a> from 2001 to 2005. <p> He collaborated to the creation and development of the <a href="http://www.centrotemporeale.it"> Centro Tempo Reale </a> in Firenze since its inception in 1988, and from 2001 to 2003 he was appointed artistic director as a successor to Luciano Berio. <b>PLEASE NOTE:</b> the activity of Nicola Bernardini is <b>NO LONGER</b> related to that of the <a href="http://www.centrotemporeale.it"> Centro Tempo Reale</a>, nor does he endorse any of the latter cultural strategies of this institution. Please <b>DO NOT</b> associate him with this institution. <p> Since April 2004, Nicola Bernardini is the director of <a href="http://miu.firenzetecnologia.it"> Media Innovation Unit </a>, a research unit devoted to Free Software, Free Contents, Free Networks and New Media of <a href="http://www.firenzetecnologia.it"> Firenze Tecnologia </a> (itself a technology division of the <a href="http://www.fi.camcom.it"> Chamber of Commerce of Firenze</a>). <p> He has participated to the <a href="http://www.soundobject.org"> SOb project (IST-2000-25287) </a> as consultant and is/has been the coordinator of the <a href="http://www.agnula.org"> AGNULA project (IST-2001-34879) </a> and of the <a href="http://www.s2s2.org"> S2S² project (FP6-03773)</a>.
